I was able to make a small business app in a couple of hours without prior knowledge of this tool. It helps to have knowledge in databases but if you know how to use Airtable or similar, you will have no problem. The app designer interface is quite intuitive and you can make very complex things with it. Plus it has very good documentation and it is in active developement. Additionally it is open-source and easily self hostable.
