When it works, it is very convenient but I regret using it now for 4+ months because of the customer service. Things may go wrong in long-term travel as a forginer...your phone number may need to change, you may need to get a refund from a merchant, and Cheq's customer service will leave you out to dry in those times when you need help. Right now I am waiting on a refund of a large sum 60000 Rs, and the problem is on Cheq's side, but they take days to respond to a WhatsApp or Email request, they then go silent for days at a time. There is no phone line to call, you will have no idea if they are working on your problem, they won't respond to messages unless they feel like it. It is really frustrating and frightening to trust your money to these people.

So if you use Cheque don't put any money you can't live without. At one point my indian phone number was deactivated, which meant I couldn't use my cheq account or access my funds...and I was screwed and living off the cash I had until they finally changed my phone number allowing me to log back in...which took 2 seconds but took them days to look into.

Be warned.
