After researching for various solutions, I stumbled upon Elsa. I had high expectations on the product... but honestly, after paying for the 1-year subscription and trying it couple of days, I have to say that I am disappointed. The UX is bad. The different discussions with the AI seem fake. It is very not appealing. I regret making this purchase...
I love Elsa Speak! I've been a subscriber for 4 years or so. When your practice regularly, your pronunciation really improves, thank to its instant feedback.
Terrible terrible onboarding flow - after going through two rounds of voice recording and questions it had me make an account before showing the results. Of course. After verifying and 2 attempts at logging in post-registration, i then had a hard time finding the detailed results page from the previous recording taken during the onboarding.
Strikingo outshines Elsa by offering a broader range of languages, including Japanese, Chinese, and Korean, whereas Elsa focuses mainly on English. It provides personalized recommendations and pronunciation assessments tailored to each user, enhancing the overall learning experience. Strikingo also offers AI assistance for both IELTS Speaking and Writing, which is a significant benefit for exam preparation. Additionally, it includes a variety of niche AI tools for different user needs, making it more versatile. Moreover, Strikingo offers free access to a powerful General AI, adding substantial value for users.
The app is very user-friendly, and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my speaking skills. ELSA’s lessons are short and efficient, making it easy to fit into a busy schedule.
ELSA should update and improve the application's interface. Update the lesson after a while. Sometimes the application cannot recognize voice, or does not recognize it correctly./.
I used the app for a bit, and it's helpful to improve pronunciation when general English level is already not bad.
practical and efficient. costs little compared to competitors and has an innovative approach
ELSA is important for anyone who wants to learn English
Bad UX for new users. I wanted to receive feedback after reading the passage and answering questions about English learning goals that Elsa asked, but after submitting, I was asked to create an account and forced to follow another flow for onboarding. Too troublesome!
