Free tools I used to cut the background or fix small things in my graphics. One thing is bad for me is that GIMP is hard to learn, there are so many menus and buttons, and I don't know which one I need. Although when I get to know basics, work become feasible.

GIMP handled all the image editing I needed for SunQuest — from quick mockups to fine-tuning visuals. It’s my go-to as an indie dev.

Reliable. All the tools are there when you need them after you learn where to find everything. Works with Wacom.

GIMP helped me understand the complexities of image processing and how users interact with image manipulation tools. Its open-source nature inspired me to create a more streamlined, focused solution for batch processing.

GIMP is a powerful, open-source alternative to Adobe Photoshop. It’s free, lightweight, and highly customizable with a wide range of plugins. This makes it ideal for developers who need basic to advanced graphic editing without the cost of premium software. GIMP’s open-source nature allows for community-driven enhancements, which keeps it versatile and adaptable to unique project needs.

It's free, a little cumbersome and not as easy to use as Photoshop. This is more for the Pros who understand layers etc

I've been using GIMP for quite some time, and it's one of the best free image editing tools available. The range of features it offers, from basic editing to advanced graphic design, rivals many paid programs. For anyone looking for a powerful, open-source alternative to commercial software, GIMP is definitely worth trying!
