Without Payload we wouldn't have been able to build such a stable foundation for app. Truly the best CMS out there ❤️

Great open source CMS which will feels intuitive for any developer familiar with typescript & NextJS (since their V3 release). Though I've been using payload for projects since V1, and the team keeps delivering amazing work, new features with a great eye for their community and the best thing is that it's fully customizable.

Payload CMS is a game-changer for developers looking for a modern, flexible, and extensible content management system. Unlike traditional CMS platforms, it is built entirely on TypeScript and React, allowing for full control over the data schema, authentication, and API structure. Its self-hosted nature ensures complete ownership of data, while its headless architecture enables seamless integration with modern front-end frameworks like Next.js. Payload simplifies content management for developers while maintaining the flexibility needed to scale complex applications.

It's never been easier to create a backend with user permissions and everything you need to deploy a platform. There are a lot of headless CMS's out there like Strapi, Storyblok or Contentful. But none of them are as minimal, simple and powerful at the same time as Payload CMS.

We are currently building up a CMS to support internal workflows for powering a gamified real-time learning app. As a developer I'm thrilled we chose Payload Cms. Payloads customization capabilities and extendable Admin UI are a powerhouse of opportunities for us.

Payload is a forward-thinking CMS, it has a great community with responsive developers, great DX for developers and UX for content writers.

It's a relatively new product and as such may be more limited in terms of features and broad integrations/support but the community is writing plugins and its open source so you can either contribute or expand it for your own purposes, as it's an extensible application framework too!

Pros
+ developer friendly (3)+ community support (1)+ open source (1)
Cons
limited features (1) limited integrations (1)
