ProtonMail is the best alternative to Gmail I know.

Their commitment to privacy, the free tier, and the modern UI make it a no-brainer when looking for a valid email provider.

Pros
+ security and privacy (4)+ modern UI (2)+ free tier (1)

I really ❤️ their products & services. I really dislike the fact that free option is so much restricted and limited. You have to pay subscription to enjoy privately simple things (like creating email folders and rules, able to enjoy 2FA on passwords etc.). Although they deliver great privacy services, as their priority, they don't provide great functionality too, to their free option, which's kind of disappointing.

Pros
+ security and privacy (4)
Cons
limited free tier functionality (1)

I've been with Proton for a long time now, and their progress and commitment to the mission is fantastic. Their product is so much easier to use than Gmail or similar too.
