However, I would suggest allowing users to add recommendations about off-beat travel destinations and reviews about the restaurants, cafeterias and markets at these destinations.

It's a nice idea with a lot of potential and room for improvement. I wish to suggest a few improvements, like adding more tourist spots for every state and UT , you can also give voice samples for the common use phrases that you mentioned, also the phrases can be categorised according to purpose of usage and more phrases can be added for each category.
