When I talk about the full Visual Studio IDE (Community, Professional, or Enterprise), I'm talking about the gold standard for developing in the Microsoft ecosystem (.NET, C#, C++, Azure). It is not a casual tool; it is a meticulously crafted powerhouse designed to handle massive enterprise applications.

Great IDE for programmers

Built and debugged the MV3 extension here—content scripts, service worker, and devtools workflow were fastest for this project.

My go-to workspace for everything. Lightweight, flexible, and the extensions ecosystem is unmatched. I tried others, but nothing beats VS Code’s speed and the way it just gets out of your way while you’re deep in flow.

I built my Live Wallpaper Creator with it. I tried other options (like JetBrains/Rider or Compose for Desktop), but I needed an OpenGL view next to docked controls—like other 3D editors—and WinForms made that easy. Visual Studio was the most stable choice.

Quikplots would not even be here if it weren't for VS Code! At one time, my laptop stopped responding, and I feared the worst!
