Good enough, but not great. The UI is clean, but keeps breaking on and off with new updates. Features and extensions are often half-baked and do not work as expected. AI search is acceptable, but not great. Support is helpful but unwilling to solve tricky problems. Some features are offered better by its competitors. Powered by Gitbook banner is too big and cannot be removed in any plan.

Cons
unstable performance (2) inconsistent editor output (2)

Big fan of GitBook! I've been using it for my startup's docmentation platform for about a year now and it continues to improve. The GitBook team really listens to their users and it shows with the platform rolling out awesome features on a regular basis. GitBook is the best documentation platform I've used and best of all, it's fun to use!

Pros
+ easy to use (3)+ excellent documentation (6)

Looks nice, fairly easy to use. However can be unstable and most useful features are very expensive. Other tools are expensive but you get everything plus stability.

GitBook made it easy for us to turn internal knowledge into clean, shareable documentation. It helps us explain Gridica clearly — from protocol architecture to onboarding node operators — without friction.

I don't like the new approach when what you write in the editor looks totally different when you publish it, especially tables. The rest is fine

Cons
inconsistent editor output (2)

I love tools that make you look "more" professional that you necessarily are. Within minutes, I was able to create professional (and useful) documentation for my users. So simple, yet so powerful.

I have been using GitBook to write product documentation. It's super easy and fast to use, and it's pretty reliable in the way everything comes out once I push things live. Love it! I even plan to use it for my side projects. 🙌

GitBook is a fantastic platform for our documentation needs. It stands out for its seamless integrations with popular developer tools like GitHub and GitLab, making it easy to maintain docs directly from repositories. GitBook's collaborative, docs-as-code approach has been invaluable for our team, allowing us to create and share content efficiently while keeping everything centralized. Perfect for any team looking to streamline technical documentation.

"Kudos to Gitbook for making our documentation a breeze! Your intuitive platform is helping us create comprehensive guides for our community of scientists and funders." Tip: Use Gitbook's versioning feature to maintain documentation for different platform versions.
