Reviewers praise Logseq for fast, local-first note capture, powerful outlining, and effortless linking that surfaces connections without heavy organization. Daily journals, backlinks, and PDF annotations earn repeated kudos, as do privacy, Markdown portability, and an active plugin ecosystem. Many say it replaced Notion, Obsidian, OneNote, or Evernote for personal and research workflows. Common caveats: a learning curve, occasional UI quirks, slow startup, imperfect sync/mobile UX, and sparse docs for advanced queries. Users are excited about the upcoming database version and request better audio transcription and iOS share integration.

Still testing it, but it looks promising! I guess I'll take a deep learning curve to get it work

LogSeq is a bullet point outline style PKM but it works well for writers. It needs audio transcription for capture and drafting — flagged as a new feature but not being seen yet.

Logseq has transformed my journal. I've previously used evernote. I've had collections of google docs. But the linking that comes so naturally in logseq makes it so much easier to find what you had before. The daily journals are brilliant .. I didn't use them much to start with, but now I find them so much more powerful than having individual pages, because of the inherent timeline. The bullet-as-a-doc provides easier focus, especially with being collapsible. And also, the in-app pdf with annotations are awesome. Thank you so much.

Pros
+ bi-directional linking (11)+ daily journal feature (7)+ PDF annotation (3)

After using multiple apps, I love Logseq; it looks simple but is extremely powerful. I've been using it for years. Long live Logseq, kudos to the team.

Apart from being a little slow to start, the app is wonderful. Outline everything, pdf annotations, create calculatons on the fly, backlings everywhere .....what else can you ask! Excellent! I cant wait for the db version to roll out

Pros
+ bi-directional linking (11)+ PDF annotation (3)
Cons
slow performance (3)

Logseq does what so many other productivity tools only aspire to do, it actually helps my productivity. Whereas many other tools say "You could be productive if only you thought like me," Logseq doesn't get in your way, it just says "Keep me in the loop, and I'll be there to help when you need me,"

So now when I think of something to do, I take the extra second to note it in Logseq . When I have an idea, I take the extra second to write it down. When I'm reading a book or paper and I want to outline a point or quote, Logseq doesn't take up too much of my time to have it noted down. Then when I want to actually use what I've got, I can sit down with Logseq and go over my outstanding tasks, give that idea I had some structure, or review my notes on a topic.

I tried many Other Apps, to name a few : Notion, Obsidian, Anki, Remnote. Now I settled on Logseq mainly b/c it's FOSS + Notes are in MD files + Got Flashcards & Linking functions. it's not perfect but still I feel Lucky I found it, and the nice thing is that I can sync my Logseq flashcards back to Anki. That's Great , A tool that doesn't just wanna suck subscriptions out of you !! how refreshing ! TYSM

Pros
+ open source (14)+ Markdown support (5)+ flashcards (1)+ free tier (7)

After trying both Notion and Obsidian this is the note taking app I settled for:

  • the blocks/outliner system makes more sense to my needs
  • daily journals and data queries are in the core of the application, no need to use plugins for them. I'm looking forward to the new database version, I think it will make a huge impact in the PKM ecosystem.
Pros
+ daily journal feature (7)

It’s the most useful tool for my productivity. I use it to take meeting notes, organize my research, project management, and so on. Whenever I find an interesting post on twitter or a video on youtube, I keep track of it along with my notes with Logseq.

Amazing. Use it with iCloud and Git and works like a charm for me. (I use Node-Red and a simple bash script to periodically push to git remote)

Pros
+ Git integration (2)
