Alter is like a personal assistant a keystroke away. I love the built-in and user-customizable actions, which I use throughout the day to blow through work. Many models available, and the available privacy-focused models (no data retention, no training, etc.) are a great offering.

I tried many AI tools and only Alter is the one I use every single day. It’s ‘package’ is awesome…chats, many models, tools, actions, automations, meeting transcripts with parakeet and very accurate diarization. A dream for a customized like me. But what I love the most is the discord community and the clockwork Friday releases. You have a direct line to the founders and more than a few times something I shared found its way into the next release. What I miss is a proper chat interface and an easier way to get to my history to continue chats, but the team says they are working on it.

A product that I really enjoy that makes my life easier!

I've tried many of the usual suspects for Mac front-ends, but this is by far the best, not only in terms of value for money but also how resource-light it is (even on my Intel Mac). I've used Cherry Studio, Witsy, Msty, Enconvo, and BoltAI. The key difference is AlterHQ's access to the latest models and its impressive speed.

The developers are very active, and their selection of LLMs is remarkably solid. As someone who uses AI a great deal, I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone seeking a simple, intuitive, and Apple-esque experience.
